NIGHTMARE!!!! i too have been screwed over by paypal and their ridiculous requirements to have an account…every year i take a trip to alaska. The outfitter does not take credit cards, only cash. This year i invited a friend that wanted to go. He wanted to use his AMEX, so he paid me through PayPal and I fronted the cash to the outfit for he and I both. I have over $6k of money stuck in Paypal (frozen) MY MONEY!!! and they’ve made me literally jump through hoops like a monkey to change my account from limited status so I can get my money. This is just a bunch of crap. Next time I’ll just use Western Union or something. NEVER AGAIN!!! There has to be another product out there better than PayPal.. absolute garbage

I wanted to take a moment to correct information in this post. TV content provided as part of your TV package with Comcast does not count toward the cap. Website traffic like Fancast or Comcast.net does. On Demand through your cable box does not. The cap is discussed in detail in our terms of service for intermnet.

…so the problem, as I see it (non-corroborated) is that banks have two things holding them back from adopting a technology like OAuth:

* motivation. Why should they bother? For them, they already have a bunch of fraud and abuse prevention techniques in place based on current security methods. While they are trying to reuse their sunk costs in existing infrastructure with new features like chip-in-cards, the cost to try to get their partners to move over would not be insignificant, and the chance that it’d save them much money isn’t that great either.
* ancient infrastructure. The bigger problem that banks would need to get past is their archaic infrastructure that doesn’t support adding APIs or benefitting from more agile or modern development methods.

That last one is a HUGE barrier to achieving any kind of meaningful change — which is why I’m excited about efforts like BankSimple.

BING search engine is just as good as Google. In my own personal experience, Google does give more releveant search result than Bing but the difference is very small. **

Paypal is ridiculous.I was concerned about a fraudulent transaction on my debit card so i got a new one.I could not get paypal to give me access to my account with my new card no matter what i tried. They send me e-mails on how i can click on a link to fix my account but i always end up with the SAME OLD BULLSHIT!!!!!!!! In my book Paypal is doing everything to deny account holders their funds so that they can use those funds for their own purposes(they do this under the guise of security!)It would,t surprise me if they asked for my dogs left hind paw print to access my account!THESE PEOPLE ARE FUCKED UP AND SERVE NO PURPOSE AT ALL BUT TO IRRITATE ME! FROM NOW ON I WILL DELETE ALL OF YOUR FUCKING E-MAILS AND HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH YOU IN ANY SHAPE OR FORM! FUUUUUUCK OFFFFFFF!!!!!!!!!!!
